At the start of the financial year 2007 Pro Trader opened a trading account with $100,000, and over the next couple of months we invested a further $300,000, bringing the total invested to $400,000. Our intention, as well as to make extra income, was to use this portfolio to try out some trading strategies.
We were determined not to fall into the trap that many of the pundits do, trading a "virtual portfolio". We put real money into the market, with the same risks and trading issues as everyone else.
Over the past financial year we have had a very interesting time trading our portfolio and we want to share some of the insights we have gained; what has worked for us, what didn't and what we learned.
In this Very Special Event, Frank Watkins will outline some specific trades both profitable and unprofitable, warts and all. In particular we will show how even during a very volatile trading period, we protected our capital. Importantly, we have gained some insights that will be of benefit to members in their own trading.
Frank will also give some pointers on how to trade the current market.
